ABOUT PLGS
POLICY, LEGISLATION AND GOVERNANCE

UN-Habitat’s Policy, Legislation and Governance Section (PLGS) is one of five sections of the Branch and supports national and subnational governments and other partners through the development and dissemination of knowledge, capacity building, conducting policy dialogues and providing advisory services on, inter alia, urban policy, legislation, governance, metropolitan management, and urban-rural linkages
The section plays a pivotal role in implementation of the agency’s Strategic Plan, contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs), and the New Urban Agenda. The Section fosters collaboration with other sections, branches, regional and country offices and with external partners, to develop innovative, cutting edge and relevant normative tools, knowledge products, technical cooperation projects, policy dialogues and advisory services to national and sub-national governments to ensure they positively impact the most vulnerable
