Sara Habibi
National Urban Policy Officer

Sara Habibi is National Urban Policy Officer and Project Manager in UN-Habitat, based in Tehran, I.R. Iran. The focus of her work is on urban and regional planning related issues, among which National Urban Policy, Urban and Territorial Planning, Sustainable Development, Housing, Slum Upgrading, and Social Inclusion are most important.

She has completed her Ph.D. in Urban Planning at the Department of Urban Planning, University of Tehran. She had previously obtained her Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the same Department and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Art in Tehran.

Before joining to UN-Habitat, Sara has worked in I.R. Iran with several consulting engineering groups and research centers such as Rahshahr International Group and Research Center for Development of Environment and Human Settlements.

She has both academic and professional experiences. She has been lecturing on urban planning at the University of Art and Azad University of Qazvin in the last years. Sara’s Articles in journals and conferences show her deep interest in substantive subjects such as strategic planning, spatial planning, sustainable development, quality of life, urban form, quality of life.
