Oboka Ian Hillary is a lawyer working as a specialist in the evaluation of the legal frameworks for urban development, international comparative urban law and governance. Currently, he is working on the evaluation of the Land Law, Construction Law and Law on Housing of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. His professional expertise is in land law, climate & environmental law and urban governance.
Oboka holds a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Rights & Competition (LLM) from the University of Augsburg, Germany; Postgraduate Diploma in Laws from the Kenya School of Law; and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Before joining UN-Habitat, he worked at Robson Harris Advocate LLP as a corporate & commercial lawyer and advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He is fluent in English and Swahili and intermediate level in French.
