John Omwamba oversees the Liberia National Urban Policy Programme, transport corridors, national spatial frameworks, urban and rural linkages, and regional and metropolitan planning. Prior to joining UN-Habitat, he worked in Kenya at IPE Global (K) Ltd as Research Coordinator on Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Programme (KISIP) and was a board member for the Kisii County Land Management Board. Mr. Omwamba holds a Master’s degree in Transportation Planning and Engineering from the University of Southampton in the UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Nairobi. He is fluent in English, Kiswahili and Gusii.
